Teaching

SAMPLE WORKSHOP TITLES

WRITING FUN AND EASY
This workshop introduces reluctant writers of all ages and abilities (or teachers of same) to the joy of story making and gives confident writers some cool new moves.

THE THREE ACT STRUCTURE
In this workshop, participants will be led through a dynamic process which deconstructs three famous dramatic narratives  – “Hansel and Gretel”, Romeo and Juliet” and “Star Wars”  – to see how they conform with the elements of the classic three act structure.  Learners will come away with an understanding of  how balancing scenes, plot points, obstacles, the crisis and climax are used and how they can be applied to new narratives being created by students.

MAPPING OUR INTERNAL DIALOGUES
The great dramatist Henrik Ibsen said writing was like “sitting in judgment on our soul”.  In this workshop we will examine the internal voices that often fill our minds and souls.  Participants will actively engage with those voices in a dialogue which will be lively and illuminating.

THE GREAT POSTCARD CONTEST
Learners will write a postcard (no more than 80 words) and choose an image for same that reveals the person who is writing and the person receiving.
